The seminar Pathways to MSME resilience in Asia took place on May 5 as part of the ADB 2025 Annual Meeting.

Hosted by Generali in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the event explored strategies, partnerships, and innovative solutions to strengthen Asian Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and the global value chains that depend on them in times of rising uncertainty. With the aim of raising awareness around the commitment to supporting Asian MSMEs on their path to resilience, the session focused on addressing the urgent need for MSMEs to improve financial risk management. It also facilitated a solution-oriented discussion—particularly with public institutions, local associations, business representatives, and international organizations—to drive sustainable development for MSMEs in Asia.

Among the participants in the discussion were: Riccardo Barbieri Hermitte – Director-General, Ministry of Economy and Finance, Andrea Sironi – Chairman, Generali, Kanni Wignaraja – UN Assistant Secretary-General & Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific, UNDP, Giulio Terzariol – CEO Insurance, Generali, Roberta Casali – Vice-President for Finance and Risk Management, Asian Development Bank, Simone Bemporad – Group Chief Communications and Public Affairs Officer, Generali, H.E. Vani Rao – Ambassador of India to Italy.
